Riders visit San Antonio one last time

Greetings from San Antonio, where the Riders are about to begin their final series against the Missions this year…and forever.

As you probably know, the Missions — the last remaining founding member of the Texas League — are moving up to the Triple-A Pacific Coast League next season. In the place of San Antonio, Amarillo will return to the Texas League next year for the first time since 1982.

The Riders have already clinched the all-time series against the Missions, bringing a 235–229 all-time record against San Antonio into play this week. As the record indicates though, it’s been quite a well-contested matchup over the years, and hopefully, we’ll get more of that this week at Wolff Stadium.

Stay tuned throughout the week for all sorts of reflections on the end of an era in the Texas League right here on the Cash Store Riders Insider Blog:

THURSDAY: A preview of what’s to come in Amarillo
FRIDAY: A final farewell to the Missions
