Why Apple Watch is essential for me

I read an article recently about apple watch being the Apple’s most unnecessary product. I strongly disagree and not for the obvious reasons of fitness or notifications.

The first most important use of Apple Watch is as an alarm device. In older days before apple watch I used my phone to wake me up. Many times, the buzz of alarm was scaring me and my heart rate was going up instantly. Also, now that I am married, the buzz could wake up my baby kids or my wife. Fortunately, Apple watch vibrates gently on my wrist and I wake up calmy without bothering anyone else.

The second most useful thing is the Apple pay. To pay with the iPhone is a hassle: you must take out the iPhone itself and use face id that it may fail to register. With Apple watch, paying is seamless experience, no pin, no face id, just it works so perfect.

The fitness and health are another major aspect. I can’t think going for a walk or run without an Apple watch. The sleep tracking also is useful because I can’t say that I have good sleep.

Unfortunately, Apple Watch is a delicate device. My first Apple watch 6’s screen popped out (after 10 months) and I used my old series 3 until Apple replaced it. But also the second series 6 from Apple had the same problem (after 12 months). My kid smashed the series 3 that I used as a backup so I bought a case and it worked: it keeps the screen from popping out.

When my second screen popped out I was considering my options. I was angry with Apple. We pay premium prices and we expect better quality from the fitbits and android watches with half the price. I can live without a watch for sure but I would miss greatly the first two things, alarm and Apple pay. As long as my series 6 works i am fine but buying every year new Apple watch because of device failure is unacceptable for me.
