Extra Mile for a Job

Job is essential part of one life, we have to put so much effort to get the job, we have to come out of our comfort zone to perform well on the duty. So the task was given Amal academy for in person drop of Cv, for which I have to go extra mile and show my desire and passion to get the job and to stand out from other applicants. I decided to go for Jaffer Brothers Limited at Gulberg Lahore. I opted for them, my friend told me that they are recently looking for new recruits. I enquired about HR Manager and JD from him. I prepared my Cv and cover letter according to it. I also researched about their ongoing projects and organizational structure, so that I can preparation that how can fit in it and how my university projects can be beneficial for the company. Then I went to the company office at the morning and it was daunting task to explain security guard for my reason to meet HR manager. Finally, I made into the office, Hr manager was busy in meeting at that time, so I have to wait for around 45 minutes at waiting area. Then finally I got the opportunity to meet him, He was very polite and humble, gave proper time to me. I put forward my elevator pitch along with Cv and cover letter. He acquired about my final year project in detail and also discussed about past experience. I also asked some questions about their company and his experience working there. Then the meeting was ended on the goodwill gesture and he said , he will let me about my status of application.
It was good learning experience as I never this far to apply for job , so initially I was feeling hesitation about it . But I am glad I made to the extra mile. Apart from I get the job or not. This experience taught me a lot about how to approach and engage with companies. The difficulty I faced is that I have to wait for long time so I learned that I should have sent mail to HR to enquire about his available time. I learned that I will make visit of company as visitor, not as applicant. Just to take overview around there and then I will make move for the job. My advice for others is not to lose hope, keep trying, keep improving and above all have faith in God and in your abilities.
