California Style Buttered Pasta Is Easy And Delicious

California and Italy have many similarities, which explains why so many common Italian dishes featuring fresh ingredients are popular in the golden kingdom. California-style butter pasta is a dish that combines the old world with the delicious new.

Although the red sauce is the most well-known match for Italian pasta, tomato and olive oil gives creamy butter a popular pasta topping as you move to northern Italy. Northern Italy, like California, is a major dairy region and the largest producer of milk and butter in the United States.

This delicious dish could not be easier to combine cooked pasta with the rich natural flavor of California butter. The dish comes together as soon as the pasta is cooked.

A top of the toasted bread crumbs adds an interesting crank. And give the option of a dry jack for permission for the uniqueness of California. Dry Jack is an ancient form of the all-time popular Montreal Jack, both of which were made in California.

Serious enough to serve as a main course with a green salad on the side, California-style butter pasta is the perfect companion for any type of meat or chicken meal. It goes well with fish because its rich yet delicate flavors do not overwhelm even the most delicate fish.

This recipe works best with a slightly wider form of pasta such as linguini or fettuccini which provides a great balance between the pasta and the butter coating. It will work great with a pen or rigatoni style of pasta. But feel free to use your favorite type.

California-style bottled pasta

Yield: Serve 3–4 entrees

Or as 6–8 side dishes

1 pound (16 ounces) of dried or fresh linguini

2 tablespoons salt

6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) California butter

1 cup (4 ounces) fresh raw California dry jack or Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup toasted bread crumbs

Cut into pieces to taste

1. In a large (6–8 quart) container, bring 4 drops of water to a boil. Add salt and pasta.

2. When cooking pasta, cut the butter into 1-inch pieces and keep it soft.

3. When the pasta is cooked from the desired texture, throw it in a landfill, save 1/4 cup of pasta water. Return the drained pasta to the cooked pot and add the butter, half the grated cheese, and half the bread crumbs. Toss, good coating. Mix the moist paste with water. Season with fresh raw peppers.

4. Transfer to a separate pasta bowl in a serving bowl or portion and sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs on top. Serve immediately.

For a simple and hearty meal or a delicious side dish, try California-style butter pasta.
