The Tech to Expect in 2021

I sanitized my crystal ball to give you a glimpse into the future of innovation

Perhaps the most hopeful thing you can do after a year like this is to write about the future. However, imaging what 2021 will be like, even just for technology, is risky. We thought, after all, we had a handle on what to expect in 2020, and we all know how that’s turned out.

Looking ahead this time, I know that technology in 2021 will be informed by the year before like none before it. 2020 remade us. It broke down societal norms and habits and rebuilt them in survival mode as something new, different, and not always worse.

It’s not just the appeal of cable cutting that could get 5G into the home. Verizon’s fixed 5G, for instance, can reach speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
