Why “man’s best friend” is an apt name

If you are trying to convince yourself or a partner to get a dog, here are 10 good reasons you should invite one into your home.

Similar to human babies, dogs can help you release happy endorphins. Especially if you’re actually a dog person, those big eyes they give you when they want something from you just makes us go nuts.

At least two or three times a day they will come up to you and beg for you to stand up and play with them or take them on a walk. Clearly this is an unselfish act on their part and they just want to see you alive and strong.

But really, needing to take care of another being is a perfect guilt-tripping motivation to make you get off your gluteus maximus and get you outside where all that vitamin D is!

Plus, exercising also helps release happy endorphins, so the dog is furthering your happiness via forcing you to exercise with them.

They will alert you to any and all outside dangers such as intruders in your property like rodents, fowl, mailmen, and even your friends and in-laws.

Dogs can even sense tension in the room and will sometimes help de-escalate a room if they notice a large amount of tension.

You’ve also seen those videos where the dog saves a kid from falling of a front porch or something. They care for your kids.

Whether it be at a child you are rearing or at a spouse who is just pressing all the wrong buttons. Your dog will react to any hostility in the air and won’t leave you alone until everything is better.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been crying not he couch and my boxer will hop up and lick my face until I start laughing.

Unlike people, dogs will forgive basically wrong you do them. Sadly this can leave some dogs in abusive situations. However, for the regular good dog owner, if you snap at your dog or kennel it all day because you’re not at the home, that dog will still love you. They just want your acceptance.

If something awesome just happened and you need someone to share your enthusiasm, just turn to your dog and start jumping around! They will follow suit!

Yeah sure, cats can be trained to poop in the toilet or stay off the bed at night (who am I kidding) but dogs can be trained to literally do anything. Sit, stay, play dead, grab you a cold drink, sniff out drugs, and much much more!

… but with dogs there are many diverse breeds of all shapes and sizes, so when you want to pick your furry friend you can make a choice that will fit your lifestyle.

I personally agree with Ron Swanson when he said “dogs under 45lbs are basically cats, and cats are useless.” So I’m very biased towards large dogs.

One o f the most popular is the miniature golden doodle. Many of these breeds are just as loving and wonderful as the rest, so no excuses!

It really is unconditional. They will lick your tears away until you laugh. They will cuddle up to you or next to you until you feel less alone. They are conscious of your mental state of mind and will do their best to take care of you.
